My son gets a truck load of books about Indian mythology from his grand parents. I also used to be a big fan of these books as a kid. There are other publishers of the same genre, with different artists and probably using better quality printing paper and more graphic images of Ravana.
Recently as I was reading one of these stories, my son asked me: But Ravana doesn’t look like a Rakshasa here? Turns out that the artist chose to use a light skin color for Ravana and his son.
Tara Gupta writing in Times seems to have noticed it as well .
