I kinda like ರಾಮಾಚಾರಿ.

I liked the part where he breaks the pots and messes up the garden of the girl who teased him!

Crochet Critter – Rudy

November 13th, 2009 sonia No comments

Chirag wanted me to make this cute little creature called Rudy. Pattern is from Michaels . It took about 5-6 hours to make it but is worth it. He watched his baby brother while I crocheted Rudy. Now they are inseparable.

Pumpkin Hat

October 30th, 2009 sonia No comments

I made this cute little pumpkin hat for my li’l pumpkin. I got the crochet pattern from Bev. The pattern is for premie. So I added 30 rows to fit. It took about a 4-5 hours spanning a few days.

He is saying, “don’t I look cute in this hat?”

Simple Rangoli craft for kids

October 22nd, 2009 sonia No comments

I organized a Diwali activity in my son’s first grade class. Kids drew and colored Rangoli on a paper plate. I asked the kids to clean up their room and hang Rangoli plate on the door knob. Kids had lot of fun!

What you need:
A paper plate
Pencil
Crayons
Hole puncher
A small piece of Yarn to tie a loop

I put the dots on the plate and numbered them according to design. Here is my design. I kept it simple.

From DiwaliCraft

Kids connected dots from 1 – 16. Then they connected all even numbers to the center. This was the only tricky part for first graders! Tell them not to leave any gaps on rangoli or else evil spirits will enter! You can now see the pattern. Next step is to color.

From DiwaliCraft

I asked kids to pick 5 colors and color with pattern in mind. Here is how it looked after coloring.

You can punch a hole and tie a yarn. Here is Chirag’s rangoli hung on the door.

October 15th, 2009 sonia No comments

I need to pull Chirag out of his Ben10 and super hero obsession. I thought I will get him to do this simple Halloween craft which I saw on AlphaMom blog. It took about 10 min.

STEP 1 : Take a long piece of paper (I chose green which I had got with a mail order). Make several folds.

From Oct 2009

STEP 2: Draw Template. Then cut it out.
