SD card reader in HP laptops = good for 30 days
This was a brand new DV5t. The SD card reader just died. And I’m not alone in this. HP’s standard response: send us the laptop and we’ll fix it for free. Not worth the time and money. So next time you’re ready to a pay a premium for HP vs Dell, think twice. They both use the same cheap components.

It seems to be some kind of a software issue. After some windows updates and several reboots – things are working again. Strange.
